Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Block is the state-of-the-art facility that houses Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), the first private institution with the vision of “IN THE RURAL” – “OF THE RURAL” – “FOR THE RURAL” that offers world-class, evidence-based and life-saving healthcare free of charge to all, without any discrimination.

Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Block was established in 2018 at Sathya Sai Grama in memory of Mrs Sarla Indulal Shah, who dedicated her life for the service and upliftment of women and children. This Block was dedicated to the service of the nation by Former Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Basavaraj Bommai along with Dr K Sudhakar, Former Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Government of Karnataka in August 2021.
