Details about the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research

The Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) was established in 2023 by global humanitarian Sri Madhusudan Sai. The institute was inaugurated by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 25 March 2023..

Sri Madhusudan Sai spearheads a unique global mission of service and spirituality across 33 countries. Since 2011, bringing respite to thousands of underprivileged children, through free healthcare, free education, and free nutrition.

The Institute was established by Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli which is in the district of Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, India.

Medical education and healthcare of the highest standards being imparted, especially to the underserved and vulnerable, with last mile connectivity by our staff who are embodiments of love and compassion.

Situated in a rural area and established with a vision of de-commercialising medical education and healthcare,  SMSIMSR will provide medical education and quality medical care – completely free of cost to the beneficiaries.

The MBBS course is affiliated to Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, Kalaburgi, Karnataka and is accredited by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The NMC has been constituted by an act of Parliament known as National Medical Commission Act, 2019 which came into force on 25.9. 2020.

All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit through online counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligiblity-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all-India basis by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The MBBS undergraduate medical curriculum has been created to ensure that the medical doctor who emerges from its training program is capable of assisting the nation achieve its goal of health for all.
