The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlines the following key initiatives:

      1. Gift of Vision: Organising eye screening camps in rural areas to benefit economically disadvantaged individuals.
      2. Eye Screenings for Students: Conducting eye screenings for students enrolled in government schools in the Chikkaballapur District.
      3. Specialty Cases: Referring patients with complex or specialised care needs to Sankara Eye Hospital. For patients without Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards, SMSIMSR will cover the cost of their treatment.
      4. Research and Education: Exploring collaborative research projects, fellowship programs, and skill transfer workshops.
      5. Optometry Student Exchange Program: Implementing an internship program by sending selected optometry students from SMSIMSR to gain practical experience at Sankara Eye Hospital.
      6. Expertise Sharing: Sankara Eye Hospital will provide guidance and expertise to SMSIMSR in establishing a facility for Diabetes Retinopathy Screening.
