Admissions are subject to the following conditions:
Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) is a Constituent College of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE), Kalaburagi, Karnataka and is accredited by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The NMC has been constituted by an act of Parliament known as National Medical Commission Act, 2019 which came into force on 25.9.2020
This Institute offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences courses, free-of-cost to the deserving and poor students especially from rural areas. The Institute oPers state-of-the-art facilities and integrated learning opportunities for all students to understand the role of each subject in making accurate diagnoses and implementing holistic treatments.

- Completed the MBBS course, including residency.

- Qualified in NEET PG 2025, meeting Government of India criteria for postgraduate admission.
- Furnishing false information at the time of admission results in cancellation of the seat.

How do I apply for a PG seat at SMSIMSR?
There is no separate institutional application form. Register with the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) as per its published schedule and take part in the online counselling. Seats are allotted purely on NEET PG rank.
What is the eligibility for PG admission?

What is the service bond for scholarship students?
Postgraduate scholarship holders serve three years in free hospitals established by or registered with the University, in rural or medically underserved areas. The University pays a salary as per its norms during this period.
What happens if a student leaves the course early?
Early termination of the course attracts a fine equivalent to four times the tuition fee applicable to NRI/Management quota students.
Is hostel accommodation compulsory for PG students?
Yes. Postgraduate students are required to reside in the University hostel.

- The student will abide by the rules and regulations of the University including hostel regulations, published by the University administration from time to time. Students are also expected to abide by all the policies, procedures, regulations, and codes of conduct that apply to other staP at the University-aPiliated hospitals.
- All students who have taken admission on a scholarship from Prashanthi Balamandira Trust have to compulsorily serve in any of the free hospitals established by or registered with the University or allied trusts, institutions or foundations of the sponsoring body in rural areas. Graduating students may be posted or transferred by the university at its complete discretion to medically underserved areas, for a period equal to the number of years of the course that the student has studied in the University. For all Post-Graduate medical courses, this period will be three years of compulsory rural service. During their service, the University will pay a salary as per its norms and regulations.
- The student who has obtained scholarship will compulsorily reside in the University hostel.
- Penalty for Premature Termination: If students leave the course before completion of the PG course or during the service bond period, either voluntarily or due to disciplinary action for non-compliance with rules and regulations, the student shall pay a fine equivalent to four times the tuition fees applicable to NRI/Management quota students of that particular subject.

- Candidate must have completed the MBBS Course with residency.
- Candidate must have registered Karnataka Medical Council / Indian Medical Council.
- Candidate must have appeared in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test PG – 2025 (NEET PG – 2025) and qualified for admission to the Post Medical graduate course as per the criteria laid down by the Government of India.
- If any of the certificates or information provided at the time of admission is subsequently found to be false, the allotted seat is liable to be cancelled.

Common Counselling by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA)
Counselling for selection of Post Graduate Medical students to SMSIMSR for the academic year 2025-2026 will, as directed by NMC, be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). NEET – PG 2025 qualified candidates who wish to apply for Post Graduate Medical admission to SMSIMSR should, therefore, register with the Karnataka Examination Authority as per the KEA Schedule. Allocation of seats
All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit through online counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all-India
basis.
