We warmly invite you to the 5th Karnataka State Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM). With the theme “Lifestyle for Holistic Health”, this conference aims to highlight the urgent need to integrate nutrition, physical activity, and mental wellness into individual lifestyles and public health strategies to foster healthier communities.

At the conference, stakeholders from all walks of healthcare ecosystem, will exchange ideas on:

This hands-on nutrition workshop delves into the transformative role of nutrition in preventive healthcare. 2. Meta-Analysis: Empowering Health Professionals with Evidence Synthesis Skills

A focused skill-building workshop crafted for professionals aiming to master the concept of meta-analysis. This workshop is curated for researchers and practitioners committed to advancing data-driven public health solutions.

Key sessions:

  • Literature review techniques & PubMed strategies
  • Fixed/random effects models, and heterogeneity
  • Forest plots, Galbraith plots, sub-group analysis, and meta-regression

Each session includes live demonstrations and hands-on practice.

Organising Committee

The Department of Community Medicine at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (SMSIMSR), Muddenahalli, Karnataka leads the charge in preventive healthcare through public health research, outreach, and national health initiatives across rural India. From school health to maternal nutrition, the department drives evidence-based solutions that shape a healthier future.

SMSIMSR is a one-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art, free-of-charge institution, inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 March, 2023. Bridging the rural-urban divide, improving the patient-doctor ratio in rural and underserved regions and creating self-sufficient, service-centric and strategic healthcare professionals are some of the core objectives of this institution.
