Dr C S Hiremath is a distinguished Director of the Heart Valve Bank, bringing over 25 years of profound expertise to his field. He is a Senior Consultant and Chief Cardiac Surgeon at Sri Sathya Sai Sarala Memorial Hospital, and also serves as Director of the Heart Valve Bank and Academics (CTVS).

With a career marked by duty, dedication, determination, and discipline, Dr Hiremath is recognised as a dynamic leader in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. He has received dedicated training in coronary artery bypass surgery under Dr Sudhansu Bhattacharyya, a world-renowned surgeon, as well as in aortic and congenital heart surgery.

He has held significant leadership roles, including serving as an Executive Committee Member, Secretary, and Junior Vice President of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), and is slated to become its President in 2027. He has also contributed to organisations like the Society for Heart Failure and Transplantation and the Indian Association of Interventional Cardiac Surgeons. He is an accredited examiner for cardiothoracic surgery examinations.

Dr Hiremath has served as Organising Secretary for IACTS SCORE and the 1st International Conference of Pediatric Heart Valve Disease. He previously served as Senior Consultant and Head of Department of CTVS at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, and is an active member of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithis.

Dr Hiremath specialises in coronary artery surgery, congenital heart surgery, aortic surgery, and heart valve repairs. He has developed indigenous techniques that improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. His expertise includes complex arterial revascularisation, valve repairs, and congenital heart defect corrections. He offers redo cardiac surgery, rheumatic and congenital valve repairs, and complex and simple arterial revascularisation.

He has published numerous research articles in prestigious journals and has presented at national and international conferences.

His approach to patient care prioritises safety, with a particular focus on valve repair and congenital heart surgery to alleviate suffering and contribute to nation-building. He treats patients with compassion, comprehension, and concern, viewing them as akin to God.

He has received several awards and recognitions, including the Social Impact Champion of The Year at the CSR Health Impact Awards, and the Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award at the UAE Healthcare Leaders Summit and Awards.
