Dr Shruti Niraj is a highly experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), with over 20 years of dedicated service in mental health. As a Lecturer in Psychiatry, she brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to her practice.

Her professional experience includes 14 years with the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom, where she honed her skills in health psychology, particularly in supporting patients with medical trauma and chronic physical health conditions.

Dr Niraj’s therapeutic work is profound, drawing from evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems-informed (IFS), Attachment-informed therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Notably, she offers attachment-focused EMDR, a specialised approach to trauma therapy.

Her areas of specialisation include trauma therapy, health psychology, and the integration of Indian psychology into mental health practices. She is particularly skilled in helping individuals recover from traumatic experiences, managing chronic illnesses, and incorporating culturally rooted frameworks into her therapeutic work.
