Associate Professor, Pharmacology

Dr Santhosh Kumar is an accomplished Associate Professor in Pharmacology, bringing eight years of dedicated experience to his role. His expertise encompasses basic and clinical pharmacology, with a specialised focus on pharmacovigilance.

Dr Santhosh Kumar completed his MBBS from MVJ Medical College, Bangalore, and his MD in Pharmacology from Government Medical College, Mysore. His professional journey includes positions as Assistant Professor at Akash Medical College, Eastpoint Medical College, and Sri Devraj Urs Medical College.

His areas of interest include adverse drug reactions, drug-drug interactions, medication errors, clinical research, and neuropharmacology. He is particularly passionate about pharmacovigilance and innovative teaching-learning methods.

His MD thesis, completed in 2016, focused on local anaesthetics, reflecting his ongoing commitment to research. He has conducted and published clinical studies in pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reactions in indexed national journals. He has also presented extensively at international and national conferences, including ISRPT-CON, IJPCON, ORAH, and MPSCON.

Dr Santhosh Kumar currently serves as the Department Coordinator for IInd MBBS and Deputy Coordinator of Pharmacovigilance for AMC-SMSIMSR. He has previously held roles as Registrar of the Pharmacology department and Auditor of the Prescription Audit Committee at Sri Devraj Urs Medical College. He also served as the Pharmacovigilance Associate Coordinator for AMC-EPCMSRC and Academic In-charge for BPT at Eastpoint Medical College.
