Dr H M Kavyashree is an Associate Professor in Physiology, bringing a decade of dedicated experience in teaching undergraduate students across MBBS and allied health courses. A meticulous and disciplined educator, she excels in departmental activity planning and the implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME).

With seven and a half years of experience as an Assistant Professor, she now contributes her expertise to SMSIMSR. Her areas of specialisation include general physiology, sleep physiology, and evoked potentials.

Dr Kavyashree is a Life Member of the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India. Her research is published in reputable journals, focusing on topics such as reaction time in television-watching children, sleep quality in medical students, examination stress, collaborative learning, and the effects of smoking on visual evoked potentials and reaction time. Notably, she received the 2nd Prize for Best Oral Presentation at ATPCON 2017 for her work on the effect of smoking on visual evoked potentials. She has presented her research at numerous national conferences, including APPICON, ICONBAP, and PHYSICON.
