Dr Chethan N Murthy
Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology
Dr Chethan N Murthy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, specialising as a cornea, phaco, and refractive consultant. He is deeply committed to providing compassionate and high-quality treatment, with a particular interest in cataract, cornea, ocular surface, and refractive surgery. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is a music enthusiast, finding solace and joy in playing the piano.
His areas of expertise encompass cornea, phaco, refractive, ocular surface, and medical retina. He offers specialised treatments, including keratoplasty and simple limbal epithelial transplantation. He pioneered corneal transplantations in the Chikkaballapur District and has performed over 100 keratoplasties.
Dr Murthy is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Cornea Society of India, the Karnataka Ophthalmological Society, and the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society. He was awarded an AIOS travel grant in 2024.
He has presented his work at international conferences, including APAO 2023 in Malaysia, APAO 2024 in Bali, Indonesia, and SICCSO 2024 in Italy. He has also contributed as a resource person for an intravitreal injection workshop at Shroff Eye Hospital in 2023.
