It was a momentous occasion for Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) as the inaugural batch of medical students made their alma mater proud by achieving outstanding results in their 1st-year examinations. A remarkable 80% of the students secured distinctions, while 20% earned first-class, demonstrating their exceptional academic prowess and dedication to their studies.

Founder Sri Madhusudan Sai, beaming with pride, personally presented the marks cards to the students. This heart-warming gesture was met with unbridled joy and a sense of accomplishment among the entire batch.

Despite the strict and controlled environment of the examinations, the students received glowing remarks and high praise from the examiners for their exceptional performance and behaviours.

Rifa M from the Hassan District of Karnataka, secured the highest marks with 88% distinction. In her speech, she acknowledged how the hostel life and rigorous study regimen had improved her punctuality and focus. Rifa, coming from a Muslim family, was grateful that the college allowed her to follow Ramadan traditions, even waking up early to cook for her so that she could observe the fasting. She shared that when she first joined, her mind was plagued by negative thoughts, which impacted her academic performance. However, she decided to not dwell on those thoughts, but instead work hard and do her best, leaving the rest to God. Rifa emphasised that as a future healthcare professional, one cannot afford to be lazy or negligent, as lives are at stake. She felt deeply inspired by the teachings of Sri Madhusudan Sai, particularly his message about merging with the divine at the end of life’s journey. Rifa realised that despite the different terminologies used, all religions essentially convey the same universal truths. She expressed her gratitude to Sri Madhusudan Sai for providing this transformative educational opportunity and imparting invaluable spiritual lessons.

Sri Madhusudan Sai, overwhelmed with pride and happiness, commended the medical students on their exceptional achievements. He expressed that not only have the students excelled academically, but they have also embraced the institute’s cultural and spiritual values with great adaptability. He praised their remarkable ability to foster a sense of community despite their diverse backgrounds and that this exemplary display of vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam – One World One Family has set an inspiring precedent for the world to follow.

The outstanding achievement of SMSIMSR’s inaugural batch of medical students sets a benchmark for future generations to aspire to, showcasing the institution’s commitment to excellence and its students’ potential for greatness.
